A local hunter, Mr Joseph Adeyemi, has allegedly shot two of his co-hunters while they were on hunting expedition within a farm in Ikole-Ekiti, Ikole Local Government Area.
A source who claimed anonymity told DAILY POST that, the group of local hunters had gone hunting at a farm in “Otunja” on Thursday when the incident happened.
He said, the traditional hunters had gone hunting wild-swine, also known as “bush-pig” in Yoruba language.
According to the source, one of the victims, Bayo Oyegoke was said to have died instantly in the farm, while the other, Stephen Aroso sustained gunshot injury.
Another villager, who also spoke to DAILY POST said the deceased had five wives and some children. He could not be specific on the number of children as at the time of filing this report.
Confirming the Incident, the Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State police command, Alberto Adeyemi said the suspect has been arrested and investigation is ongoing.
The PPRO said,”The suspect who shot at fellow hunters has been arrested and investigation is going on now.”
