Arsenal defender, Laurent Koscielny, has said that manager Arsene Wenger has given the team a new lease of life, after switching to three at the back.
Wenger set up his team in a 3-4-3 formation for the second successive game, as the Gunners defeated Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Last Monday, they ground out a 2-1 win at Middlesbrough with the new system. This means Arsenal have now registered back-to-back wins for the first time since January, ahead of Wednesday’s game at home to Leicester City..
Koscielny, who played at the centre of the back three at Wembley between Gabriel and impressive Rob Holding, said: “There was a tactical turnaround but we have been working on it for 15 days.
“The system suits certain players but it’s also good for the whole team. I think we have also found more confidence in this system with three defenders.
“We are more solid. Commitment and determination also helped us to win because over the whole game we played as a team and fought hard.”
