The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that its Board of Trustees (BoT) would take over the running of the party’s affairs in case of any future leadership crisis.
This was contained in the proposal for the amendment of the PDP constitution presented by the Party’s National Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi, to Party members in Abuja.
According to the proposal, “In the event of leadership crisis at the national level, the BoT may assume responsibility for the running of the affairs of the party for a period not exceeding six months within which an elected leadership shall be in place.”
DAILY POST gathered that the party proposed this amendment to forestall a future occurrence of its recent experience which led to the 14-month crisis that the party passed through.
