Senator Ajayi Boroffice says Senate President, Bukola Saraki will be removed legally through the quorum stipulated in the constitution.
The lawmaker representing Ondo-North senatorial district, however, disclosed that if two-thirds of all 109 Senators cannot be achieved, Saraki will be impeached by two-thirds of the number of those inside camber any day his impeachment is moved.
Punch reports that Boroffice made the declaration while speaking on President Muhammadu Buhari’s return from London.
He described Saraki’s leadership of the Senate as an aberration, adding that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would not allow the former Kwara governor, now of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to continue to preside.
His words: “We are the majority party and what has happened is an aberration and this kind of aberration will never happen again.
“The President must be supported in fulfilling his mandate which has been obstructed by the leadership of the Senate.”
On the required quorum, Boroffice said, “If the constitution says two-thirds of all members, it means it will require two-thirds of 109.
“But if it says two-thirds of members, it will be two-thirds of all members who are present and that is what I will opt for.”
