The Special Assistant on New Media to Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Olu Onemola on Monday reacted as President Muhammadu Buhari threatened those plotting to snatch ballot boxes during the general elections.

President Buhari had made it clear that anyone who tries to disrupt the electoral process, will be doing so “at the expense of his own life”.

Speaking during the emergency caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the President said he has given instructions to security agencies, to ensure the general election goes on smoothly.

Reacting to Buhari’s directive, Onemola said the president should have simply signed the Electoral Act passed by the National Assembly and not issue threats.

In a tweet, he wrote: “Instead of President Buhari threatening those who commit election infractions with “doing so at the expense of their lives”, he should have simply signed the #ElectoralAct passed by @NASSNigeria.”
