How Messi blocked Barcelona’s move for Ozil this summer

Lionel Messi stopped the Barcelona board from pursuing their interest in Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil.

Don Balon reports that Ozil was one of the midfielders Barca officials targeted over a turbulent summer at the Camp Nou.

But Messi was reportedly not happy at the idea of playing alongside Ozil, and made his feelings known when the opportunity arose.

The Argentine superstar also gave a thumbs down to a move for Real Sociedad defender, Inigo Martinez, while he was upset deals could not be completed for Angel Di Maria, Paulo Dybala or Philippe Coutinho.

Speculations are rife that Messi is getting fed up at Barca and might leave as a free agent next year .
