A man identified as Muntari Umar, has been taken into custody by the Kano State Police Command after he allegedly prodded his friend, Saleh Abdullahi, into killing his mother, Hajiya Zinab-Abu.
The Spokesperson of the State police, DSP Magaji Majiya, said yesterday that Umar’s friend, Abdullahi, who allegedly killed the 70-year-old woman, was also arrested.
Majiya said that the two suspects were arrested for allegedly conspiring to kill the old woman.
He said Abdullahi allegedly killed Mrs. Zinab-Abu on the prodding of Umar, her biological son.
Majiya said, “Based on investigation, Umar was found to have conspired with his friend to stab his elderly mother to death after having a heated disagreement with her.”
The PPRO added that Umar, of Fegin Liman, in Kano was said to have been irked by his mother’s refusal to grant him permission to lease his farm.
Majiya said the two suspects would be prosecuted once the ongoing investigation was completed.
