Former Governor of Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has hailed the sack of Lawal Daura, former Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS)

Daura was fired over the Tuesday’s siege at the National Assembly.

The presidency has since replaced him with Matthew Seiyefa, the most senior director in the agency.

Speaking to DAILY POST through Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam, his Senior Legislative Aide (SLA), Kwankwaso said Daura’s sack was in order.

“It was the right thing to be done. What they did was a coup”, he said.

“You cannot storm the National Assembly in that manner…with operatives masking their faces. It was like a commando operation, as if they were in Sambisa forest.”

Asked what Senators opposed to the impeachment of Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy Ike Ekweremadu were doing to stop the move, Abdulsalam said the lawmakers were on alert.

“Yes they are all on alert, very vigilant. The entire world is looking and watching what is happening.

“The international country are interest in Nigeria because they know that anything that happens here will have effect on the West Africa region and the continent”.

Earlier, Kwankwaso revealed that All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, gave an ultimatum for the impeachment of Saraki and Ekweremadu.

The former Defence Minister also indicted the presidency and security agencies.
