How Ikpeazu killed Abia State – Ex-APC guber aspirant, Ukauwa

Ambassador Chidike Ukauwa, a former governorship aspirant and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State, has criticized Governor Okezie Ikpeazu-led government for its monumental failures to address myriads of infrastructural problems facing the state.

He said, presently Abia was dead under Ikpeazu-led administration, due to lack of vision and direction of the governor to provide the basic needs of the Abia masses.

Ukauwa, who spoke with newsmen at a press conference held in Umuahia, the state capital on Thursday evening, said, “If you look at the situation of Abia toady, Abia is in a crossroad. Abia is dead under this Ikpeazu-led government. Abia need to come alive, because there is total collapse of leadership in the state.

“The government of Ikpeazu, needs deliverance. You cannot be asking a man who is in bondage, to deliver those who are in bondage. Ikpeazu has not delivered himself first.

“As far as I’m concerned, the current leaders we have in office in Abia, are group of people who have been inspired by the devil, not by God, to enslave us in our land. But, come 2019, the people will reject them.”

On his withdrawal from the 2019 Abia governorship race, Ukauwa explained that he willingly withdrew from the gubernatorial race to join forces with one of the governorship aspirants under APC, Uchechukwu Ogah.

Ukauwa said, he believed that if Ogah emerges as governor, the latter will salvage Abia people from the shackles of poverty and hunger which he claimed the people were subjected to by the Ikpeazu government.

He, however, dismissed the rumours making the rounds in the state, that he was settled with N85 million to step down for Ogah and accused mischief-makers of peddling such falsehood.

The APC chieftain promised to work closely with Ogah to dislodge the incumbent Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming 2019 elections.

He admonished the people of the state not to allow themselves to be deceived again, but vote out what he termed as ‘impotent’ government of PDP in Abia state.

“I want to tell the good people of Abia state not to allow themselves to be used for political thuggery and killings as 2019 general elections is fast approaching”.

“PDP has deceived us a lot. What we have here in Abia, is government of looting and witch-hunting. Because that is their hallmark”.
