A lady, simply identified as Grace, has narrated her ordeal in the hands of some armed robbers in Lagos state.
DAILY POST reports that Grace, a staff of Naval Medical Centre, Naval Dock Yard, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, VI, area of the state, was robbed at gun point in broad day light by two unknown armed men.
Grace who has since the incident remained worried narrated her experience to DAILY POST, . She said, “I left my office at about 5:00pm and stood at the front of my office waiting to board a tricycle popularly known as Keke Napep.
“There was a red jeep with tinted glasses parked nearby.
“Soon after I got there, a man in the car reversed to my direction, pointed a gun at me and ordered me to board the vehicle.
“Out of fear that I would be shot, I boarded. There was no one around the area to have rescued me even though I had screamed for help; unlike before, there were no Military personnel at the entrance gate to my office, no one was in sight at that moment.
“When I boarded, I realised they were two men in the vehicle. They set the car in motion and forcefully took everything in my possession including my laptop bag with a new red laptop inside, the charger, the mouse, an Etisalat handset.
“A black handbag containing my e-passport, foreign currencies worth 500 dollars, ATM cards, N13, 000 and some other documents.
“After collecting all my belongings, they said to me, ‘We don’t want to rape or kidnap you o, we only wanted to get your things. Where do you want us to drop you off?
“They eventually dropped me off along the road by a dual junction.
“I alighted and found my way home. I asked my sister to go with me to the bank so we could block the ATM cards and discontinue further usage. Her card was in my possession when I was robbed.
“While we were at the GTBank, I called my number using my sister’s line and the robbers picked up, saying I should come and meet them so they would return half of my properties they stole.
“I just hung up and didn’t go anywhere.
“After blocking the ATM cards, we went to my office, reported the case and from there, I went to the Bar Beach Police Division at VI.
“I lodged a complaint and the police Inspector told me to go home, that they would do everything within their powers to bring the robbers to book,” Grace added.
When contacted, a police source at the Bar Beach division told our reporter the case is a known one.
According to the source, “The robbers are not relenting in their operations in Lagos state but all hands are on deck to make sure they are all brought to face the law.
“We are investigating the case,” the source told our reporter.
