Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has revealed that former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon and late military officer, Captain S.G. Tokida saved his father’s life on the night of Jan 15th, 1996 when the junior officers’ coup took place in Nigeria.
The two-time former Minister said that he always thanks Gowon for what he did to his father whenever he sees him.
Fani-Kayode took to his Twitter handle to upload a photo of him and Gowon and wrote:
“It was a pleasure to fly with former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon today. A perfect gentleman. He and the late Captain S.G. Tokida saved my father’s life on the night of Jan. 15th 1966 when the junior officers’ coup took place.
“I always thank him for that whenever I see him. I did so again today!”
