How Fulani education can end Zamfara crisis – Miyetti Allah

Mallam Ibrahim Suleiman, the Zamfara State chairman of Miyetti Allah cattle breeders association on Thursday advised the state government to ensure that Fulani people are given proper education so as to end the persistent terror attacks and kidnappings in the state.

The chairman disclosed this at a stakeholders meeting in Gusau, Zamfara state capital, saying that the only permanent solution to insecurity in the state was to provide Fulani people qualitative education.

He noted that without education, terror attacks and kidnappings would continue to ravage the entire state of the northwest.

” We are carrying the campaign to doorsteps of the state government so that the government would know the values of education as no responsible government can afford to treat the issue of education with a mere wave of hand.”

According to him, it is the responsibility of the state government to educate its teeming population, pointing out that most of the Fulani people can not read and write not to talk of understanding the laws that guide the country.

Mallam Suleiman appealed to the state government to accord priority to the educate sector, noting that the problem would continue to ravage the state until the state government takes up a holistic approach on education.

He, however, debunked the claim by the state government that Fulani people are the brains behind terror attacks and kidnappings in the state, calling on the state government to make proper investigation on the matter.

Again, the chairman denied that there was rift or problem between the Fulani people and the Hausa people in the state as claimed by the state government recently in a security meeting between the Fulani people, Emirs, security agencies and government officials.

He, however, urged the security operatives to carry out their constitutional responsibility without fear or favour, saying that it is the responsibility of the security operatives to fish out the bad eggs in the state.

Mallam Suleiman called on the Fulani people to always remain law-abiding, pointing out that his association would never stand for any Fulani person who offends the law of the land, urging the state government not to arrest any Fulani woman doing her legitimate endeavour as the state government had planned to do initially.
