How Fani-Kayode interpreted Presidency’s statement that Nigerians ‘can only own land whe

Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, on Wednesday faulted the explanation by the Presidency on why states should adopt ranching.

Fani-Kayode said the Presidency wants Nigerians to surrender their “ancestral lands” to Fulani herdsmen or be prepared to be slaughtered.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina had said that people can only own lands when they are alive.

Adesina said this in connection to the challenge being faced by the government in acquiring land to build ranches for Fulani herdsmen.

Reacting to the explanation by Adesina, Fani-Kayode, in a tweet interpreted his statement to mean: “Giving land for ranching is better than death. Being alive is better than ancestral attachment to land – Presidency

“In other words, you must surrender your ancestral lands to the Fulani or prepare to be slaughtered. You must give them your homes or they will take your lives!”
