Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, faces a triple threat to his summer transfer plans, as he faces a fight to land Antonio Rudiger, Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro.
Manchester City are trying to hijack the Blues’ bid to sign £34million Roma defender Rudiger.
Rudiger who won this year’s Confederations Cup with Germany on Sunday, was set to travel to London on Monday to seal the deal. But Pep Guardiola has made a late offer for the 24-year-old, which includes more money than the Premier League champions have offered.
The player and his agents will now decide whether to continue talks with Chelsea or opt for City.
Barcelona are rivalling Conte’s interest in Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci.
Chelsea are not ready to pay around £60million for a 30-year-old and the Serie A champions have no desire to sell.
Juve have also made a fresh attempt to persuade left-back Alex Sandro to sign a new deal. It is understood that there is already a five-year contract on the table for the 26-year-old Brazilian.
Conte takes his squad to the Far East for pre-season training next week and will be hoping to get some new faces in before the trip.
