How 83m Nigerians started living below poverty line under PDP, APC govts – ANRP

The National Chairman of the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), Mr. Tope Fasua, has declared that the bad leadership witnessed in the country since 1999 brought about the new global index where over 83 million Nigerians are said to be living below the poverty level.

Fasua accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of causing the high level of poverty in the country by allowing corruption to take the centre stage.

Speaking in Ado Ekiti on Saturday after the state congress of the party, he said the ANRP was consummated by those he described as ‘revolutionists’ to take over leadership and end the leadership failure brought to the fore by the PDP and APC.

Fasua said the ANRP was participating in the Ekiti election to be able to convert the abundant human resources to innovative power to rejuvenate the economy and make the state an economic hub in Africa.

He said, “According to the global poverty index, 83m Nigerians are living belowvpoverty level. This was as a result of the fact that corruption has taken over the land.

“The corruption was so humongous that you can’t even know which is worse between the PDP and APC, they are deeply involved in it and that is why we are pioneering a political revolution in Nigeria using knowledgeable youth to rescue Nigerians”.

Describing Ekiti as the knowledge zone of the country, Fasua said, “Ekiti is Fountain of knowledge with abundant human resources and it I will s time for that resources to be converted to make Ekiti the centre of I nnovation to lift our country up.

“If you look at our people, they are desirous of the real change in 2019. What is the essence of government you have where 15m Nigerians children are out of schools? This is the highest in the world.

“Badly enough, this were happening in a country where senators, governors and president will buy 500 cars for himself or build as many possible houses for themselves and see nothing wrong in it.

“That revolution is starting from Ekiti in 2018. We are not hungry for Power but urgency of now gave the need for us to re-orientate Nigerians on the need to reject the PDP and APC,” he said.

Also speaking, the state chairman of the party, Mr. Sanmi Olatunde, said Nigeria is speeding into a completely failed state, adding that no effort should be spared in rescuing the country from bad governance.
