The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Monday, clarified that the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, and Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, amendment bill has only been passed in the Senate, and not in the House of Representatives.
Gbajabiamila made this known via his Twitter handle @femigbaja, saying the clarification is just for record purpose.
The House of Representatives will have to validate any of such amendment by the Senate before it can be signed into law by the President.
The Senate last week passed the CCT and CCB amendment Act at a time the Senate President, Bukola Saraki is still facing trial for false asset declaration at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.
The lawmaker wrote, “For the records, the CCT Amendment has only passed the Senate. It is yet to pass the House. Just for the records”.
