The ensuring rivalry between the duo delayed the plenary from staring on time as the APC caucus in the House had to call an impromptu meeting which lasted for about half an hour.

Vanguard reports that trouble broke out when the newly inaugurated Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Rep Herman Hembe, representing Konshisha/Vandekiya Federal Constituency of Benue State on the platform of the APC, who is the speaker’s supporter allegedly slapped his colleague, Rep Magaji Aliyu representing Birnin-Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, also of APC and a supporter of Gbajabiamila over argument on the committees composition.

They both descended on each other with heavy punches but the timely intervention of the Deputy Speaker, Yussuff Lasun, brought the situation under control.
