House help docked over theft of N15m employer’s jewelries

The police yesterday arraigned a 28-year-old house keeper, Hope Hazhi, before a Tinubu Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos over an alleged theft of her employer’s jewelry valued at N15 million.

Hazhi who resides at Akpako House, Ipare area of Lekki, was arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

According to the prosecutor, ASP Chidi Okoye, the accused’s accomplices were still at large.

He said the incident took place on April 30 at 10, Susan Oji Street, Ikota Royal Estate, Ajah, along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.

Magistrate Abimbola Awogboro however granted the accused bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum while the case was adjourned till June 29 for further mention.
