The running mate to the late Abubakar Audu in the last Kogi governorship election, James Abiodun Faleke, has claimed that some persons believed to be loyal to the newly-elected governor of the state, Yahaya Bello are after his life.
Faleke, who had refused to serve as Deputy to the incoming governor in a series of tweets on Thursday, alleged that his life was in danger.
He asserted that the governor should be held responsible if anything happened to him (Faleke).
He said, “I want to bring to public notice, the continuous threat to my life because of my resolve not to compromise #Audu/Faleke mandate for anything.
“I have to make this threat to my life public because of the loud silence from the security agencies even after sending petition to them.
“For the record, I sent a petition to the IG of Police and DG, DSS on the continuous threat to my life but no response till now.
“No doubt, this is coming from the camp of Yahaya Bello and he should be held responsible if (GOD FORBID) anything happens to me.
“The Lord is my shield and protector, he alone gives me courage and strength, I fear no one but Him. No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
“No amount of intimidation and threat will make me give up the fight for justice and the legal struggle to reclaim #Audu/Faleke mandate.
“This opens up a fresh round of allegations in the camp of the APC in Kogi state as well as between the parties involved in deciding the leader of the state,” he tweeted.
