“His advice comes in bad taste” – Group blasts Delta State official for urging Keyamo to leave polit

A group, the Delta Forces United, has flayed a recent statement credited to the Delta State Commissioner for Information, Chike Ogeah, advising Lagos lawyer, Festus Keyamo to remain as a legal practitioner instead of going into politics.

The group, in a statement by its spokesperson, Frank Oshanugor, on Friday, said it took exception to “such sarcastic advice in a democracy where every individual has the right to vote and be voted for.”

According to the DFU, the commissioner’s statement was against good politics.

The group further stated that Ogeah’s statement clearly portrayed that the political cabal had short-listed candidates that could aspire for political positions in the state.

The statement said, “His advice comes in bad taste, and is only indicative that those who have done well in private practice and human rights activism have no business in the politics of the state.”

DFU, an organisation in which Keyamo provides leadership, called on Ogeah to discontinue from making statements that would send bad signals to people of the state regarding who should or should not govern them in 2015.
