Chelsea’s interim manager, Guus Hiddink, has admitted he wants Didier Drogba to be one of his assistants at Stamford Bridge.
Hiddink was announced as the Blues’ new coach, following the sack of Jose Mourinho and watched the team defeat Sunderland 3-1 on Saturday.
The Dutchman sat in a private box along with Drogba and Chelsea owner, Roman Abraomvich.
When asked by Fox Sports about the Ivorian joining his backroom staff, he replied: “We would like to get him involved. But he still has a contract with Montreal in the MLS, even though it is the close season for them now.
“But we definitely intend to get him involved. We want to get important players involved with the club they care about. Drogba’s heart is with Chelsea.”
