The Bishop of Diocese of Akure, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Simeon Borokinni, has said that it was either President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is powerless to stop rampaging herdsmen from killing innocent Nigerians, or deliberately allowing them to continue.
He said this in a sermon at the 3rd Session of the 12th Synod at St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, Akure, the Ondo State capital, while condemning incessant killings by suspected Fulani herdsmen in some parts of the country on Sunday.
Borokinni spoke on the theme: “Working towards perfection”.
According to the cleric, “The government appears either powerless to curb their activities or deliberately, purposely and intentionally indifferent.
“Why is dealing with the herdsmen a difficult task for the government? Government must disarm these murderous herdsmen.
“It should, therefore, not be allowed to degenerate any further in the interest of all.”
