Suspected herdsmen have invaded Okueke, a farm settlement in Amoji community, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State.

They reportedly killed a farmer, Sunday Ezeugo, and inflicted bullet wounds on one other person.

The herdsmen also set two motorcycles and a bicycle ablaze during the attack which lasted for several hours in the area.

Speaking on the development, Spokesman of Amoji Development Union, Precious Enebeli, said: “the herdsmen stormed the farm settlement and started shooting at random.

“They chased the farmers away from the farm settlement and later proceeded into the community and continued shooting. The people then started running out of the community.

“After the herdsmen had left, it was discovered that Sunday Ezeugo, aka Sparco was missing. The people now went to look for him and he was found dead in a bush around the community.”

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Andrew Aniamaka said the deceased was murdered with cuts.

He said: “The people are asking that the corpse be released to them for burial. Autopsy has been done and we are looking for the criminals who committed the murder.”
