Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday morning chased out workers at the Akure South local Government Secretariat.

The incident happened following a disagreement by the herdsmen and workers in the area.

Punch reports that it took the intervention of the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gbenga Adeyanju, and the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Pedro Ideba, who deployed their men in the council, before the situation was brought under control.

According to the report, one of the council workers was allegedly attacked by the herdsmen with a machete.

The incident chased workers out of the secretariat.
