A former Secretary to the Federal Government and Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Chief Olu Falae, has declared that he would depend solely on God for protection following repeated attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen on his farm in Akure, Ondo State.
In an interview with the Punch on Saturday, Falae said that he did not know the reasons for the continuous attacks by Fulani herdsmen.
It was gathered that on Friday, the herdsmen struck the farm of the SDP chieftain, killing the security guard who was said to be a member of the Oodua Peoples Congress.
The elder statesman was said to have employed the services of the OPC to watch the farm.
He said, “I do not know what is happening. It’s worrisome. May God deliver us.”
He added, “I am not going to say anything. I will just rely on God (for protection).”
It would be recalled that Falae was kidnapped in the farm by some suspected herdsmen in September last year and was set free some days later after payment of ransom.
