A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has issued a warning to President Muhammadu Buhari, stressing that “all hell will break loose” if anything should happen to some high profile detainees.
Fani-Kayode, who used his Facebook page to make this assertion, said, “President Buhari and his government should please take note of the following:
“Sheik Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, Colonel Sambo Dasuki and Mr. Nnamdi Kanu must NOT be beaten, tortured, poisoned or murdered whilst they are in your custody or else all hell will break loose.”
Buhari had during his maiden Media Chat at the Presidential Villa in Abuja said former National Security Adviser to the past administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Col Sambo Dasuki,(rtd) and the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu cannot be allowed to taste freedom due to the enormity of the offences for which they are standing trial.
He however declined comment on El-Zakzaky, saying he is furnished with reports of enquiries being conducted by the Army and the Kaduna State Government.
Dasuki is currently being prosecuted for allegedly diverting and sharing over $2billion meant for arms procurement for the anti-Boko Haram war, to politicians.
Kanu, an agiator for the sovereign state of Biafra was earlier granted bail by a Federal high Court sitting in Abuja, but was rearrested by the Department of State Security, DSS, which slammed a fresh charge of treasonable felony against him.
Leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, El Zakzaky, on his part, is in police custody following a clash between his followers and the leadership of the Nigerian Army which claimed a yet-to-known number of lives in Zaria.
