Nigeria Professional Football League side, Heartland FC of Owerri players were on Wednesday involved in a ghastly auto accident in the city of Maiduguri.
The players were on their way to the city to play El-Kanemi Warriors in a league match.
No one died in the auto crash. However, some of the players sustained serious injuries and have been taken to hospital for treatment.
Seven players were injured, while three officials are reportedly badly wounded from the accident that occurred as the team was making their way from the airport to the city centre.
