Steve Evans, the Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat, has spoken about former brand ambassador, Hafiz Oyetoro, who featured in the viral mobile number portability initiative advert by MTN Nigeria.

Evans, speaking to media men, insisted that the actor popularly called Saka, made a mistake and that they were willing to take him back.

“Saka made a terrible mistake, we believe he is on a break and we are ready to welcome him back at anytime if he wants to come back,” he reportedly said.

He also went on to speak about the MNP, stating that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has created healthy competition among telecom operators.

“MNP is not meant for every subscriber because more than 50 per cent of Nigerian telecoms consumers have one or more SIM cards,” he said.

“For those who have had their numbers for long time, it gives them the opportunity to choose a better network without losing their original number.”
