Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has said that new boy Mohammed Salah, had “no idea” how they defend after he made his debut for the club, since his summer move from Roma.
Salah scored the equalizer for Liverpool just before half-time, to cancel out Alex Gilbey’s opener at the DW Stadium in a match that finished 1-1.
And after the game, Klopp admitted they had thrown the Egypt international into the deep end.
“He had absolutely no idea how we defend usually, so he was not really involved in this and was like ‘oh my god.’
“He was two days with us, then had to go to Paris to get the papers, then he came back and we thought ‘let’s play.’
“But you could tell he is used to a completely different way of defending. Of course, first situation, nice sprint and then the goal was maybe the most easiest thing in the game, but they played wonderful football.”
