Hazard, Sanchez lead Player of the Year nominations, Kane, De Gea up for Young Player

POTY Apr2015

The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA), has announced the list of nominees for this season’s Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.

Chelsea’s duo of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa lead the way in the senior category. The Belgian forward finished second to Luis Suarez in last year’s campaign, but has continued to impress. The 24-year-old has scored 12 goals in 31 Premier League starts this season.

His team-mate, Costa, is currently the top goalscorer in the league with 19 goals – the same number with fellow nominee Harry Kane.

Alexis Sanchez, who has scored 20 goals already in his first season at Arsenal, makes the cut. Coutinho has six goals in all competitions for Liverpool, while goalkeeper De Gea has kept 10 clean sheets this season for Manchester United.

Hazard, Coutinho, Thibaut Courtois, Kane, Raheem Sterling and De Gea will battle it out for Young Player of the Year.
