A group known as the Buhari Media Support Group, BMSG, yesterday called on the Igbo nation to have faith in President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, noting that the President is not a sectional leader as can be seen in his inaugural speech of `I belong to everybody, and I belong to nobody.’

The call was made in a statement jointly released in Abuja by Malam Mohammed Labbo and Cassidy Madueke, the Coordinator and Secretary of BMSG.

The group also commended the Igbo leaders and Governors of the south-east states for seeking dialogue between the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, and the Federal Government.

The group stated that the option of dialogue would be explored between the Federal Government and those agitating for Biafra.

It further stressed that the economy of the nation had suffered a major blow as a result of the agitation for Biafra in the south-east and the detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

According to the group, Buhari should not be held responsible for the neglect of the zone by the past administration as he has only been in power for six months.

The statement urged the pro-Biafra agitators to utilise the windows of dialogue to formally table their grievances before the federal government.

“We urge all Igbos to have faith in President Buhari’s administration with his commitment to be just to all sections of the country when he said, `I belong to everybody, and I belong to nobody.

“Continue to explore avenues for peaceful solutions to the grievances of your region, as it is only through peace that the much-sought after infrastructure and social development can be realized’’, the statement said.
