Happening Now: Ajimobi, Akeredolu, Aregbesola, Akande others in closed door meeting with APC stakeho

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State is currently holding a close door meeting of South West All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts with his counterparts from Osun and Ondo, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu respectively.

Other stalwarts of the ruling party who have arrived the Governor’s Office, venue of the meeting are Governor Akinwumi Ambode, former Interim National Chairman of the party Chief Bisi Akande, former Governors of Ekiti State Chief Adeniyi Adebayo and Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Senator Olusola Adeyeye.

Also in attendance at the meeting that started exactly 3.pm are Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives Hon. Lasun Yusuff and Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Claudus Daramola.

The Majority Leader, House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba and Minister for Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu and former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao Akala have also arrived the venue.

Ajimobi who welcomed the stakeholders on behalf of the people of the state shortly before the commencement of the meeting noted that the second leg of the meeting has affirmed the commitment of the leaders for the development of the people of the region.

He said, “This is the second leg of the earlier one we had before. The attendance of our leaders affirmed the seriousness of our leaders in the development of our region”.

He said that the gathering was based on South West development as the party approaches its third year anniversary.

“It is important to tell our people what we have achieved as we approach the third year, let me say that this is a family meeting.

“On the political front, as the governorship elections in Osun and Ekiti states draw nearer, we must ensure victory of our party.

Akande who moderated the event declared that former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu who earlier called him took excuse from the meeting.

He also noted that Minister for Works, Power and Housing and former Governor of Ekiti State Engineer Segun Oni could not also make it due to some other national assignments.
