The Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, Biodun Olujimi has lashed out at the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for keeping silent over the action of the Nigerian Customs Comptroller General, Col Hameed Ali (rtd).
The Customs boss and the senate have been involved in a face-off over the refusal of the former to appear before the Upper Legislature in his uniform.
Senate had recently invited Ali to appear before it in uniform to defend the controversial policy on payment of duties for old vehicles.
Ali shocked the senate recently as he appeared before them without adorning his Customs uniform.
Following his refusal to appear before the senate, the Upper Legislative Chambers, on Wednesday demanded that Ali must resign his appointment, stressing that he was unfit for his position.
Reacting to the face-off, Olujimi during plenary on Wednesday insisted that Ali’s action was a breach of Constitution and a grand display of arrogance.
Contributing to the debate on the letter sent to the Senate by the Attorney General of Federation, Abubakar Malami over the Customs boss, she lambasted the Executive saying they are behaving as if “nothing is wrong.”
“The Executive is sitting pretty and pretending nothing is wrong”, she said.
