Hamilton warns NFF not to rush over new Falcons coach

Nigeria’s first coach at the Women’s World Cup, Paul Hamilton, has told the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to take their time in picking a new coach for the Super Falcons.

Edwin Okon was sacked following the team’s first-round elimination at the 2015 World Cup and the NFF are actively looking for his successor.

“Being eliminated in the first round of the World Cup was disappointing, but finding a replacement for the coach should not be rushed,” Hamilton told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“There are pressures coming from all quarters now for the NFF to replace Okon, but I don’t think it’s the best to go and find a coach without also analysing other factors that might have contributed to their elimination.

“I feel our teams should be prepared better for major tournaments with top quality friendlies,”

Sweden female national team coach, Pia Sundhage, is one of the names interesting the NFF, but she recently said she is “not good enough for the team”.
