A former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Uwais, was on Tuesday attacked by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers at his official residence in Abuja.

Punch reports that the gunmen invaded Uwais’ official residence in Asokoro, Abuja, between 1am and 2am on Tuesday and carted away valuables.

The men of the underworld also beat the security personnel on guard into coma before gaining access into the main entrance.

Report says the bandits reportedly climbed the rear fence of the house and went straight to the bedroom of the former CJN.

They locked the former CJN in his study room while they ransacked his bedroom.

The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, was said to have visited the house on Tuesday morning.

Police Public Relation Officer, Federal Capital Territory Command, Anjuguri Mamzah, when contacted said he was not aware of the incident.
