Gunmen murder PDP chieftain in Delta

Gunmen, suspected to be assassins have shot dead a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at Ughelli, Delta State.

The victim, whose identity was given as Chief Owei Brinimugha, was accosted by the gunmen around Kess College junction along Iwhrekpokpor road, Ughelli at about 8:30pm.

Vanguard reports that the gunmen shot the victim, who is in his early 40s thrice on the head, chest and leg.

Speaking further, another source said the hoodlums after confirming the death of their victim, made away with his Toyota car.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu was yet to confirm this development as efforts to reach her were fruitless.
