Gunmen murder 82-year-old chief priest in Edo

Some unidentified gunmen have killed an 82-year-old community leader in Aruogba, Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.

It was gathered that the victim, simply identified as Pa Clifford Omosomwan was until his death the Chief Priest (Ohen-Ogba) of Aruogba community.

Punch reports that the octogenarian was shot after the assailants invaded his apartment at about 1 a:m on Thursday.

The source said the partially blind man was shot twice in the head at a close range by the gunmen.

‎The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abiodun Osifo, said he was yet to be briefed on the incident.

Meanwhile, his remains had been deposited at the military hospital on Airport Road in Benin, the state capital.
