Peace has eluded the visitors and residents of Chaha, a hamlet in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State as suspected gunmen yesterday morning stormed the village killing four members of a family comprising of father, mother and two children three other members of the family narrowly escaped with bullet wounds.
DailyPost gathered that the unknown gunmen who invaded the residence of 43-year old Iliya Yakubu, at about 1:30a.m on Tuesday opened fire and shot the head of the family, his 38-year-old wife Lyop, their son, Nuhu and a-year-old daughter, Peace while they were sleeping.
One of the survivors, Alice Iliya who is currently receiving treatment at the Vom Christian Hospital Vom, said she heard one of the hoodlums calling her brother’s name before bulldozing their way into the family compound.
Alice said the three of them receiving treatment were shot through the window when they were caught trying to escape into a bush close to their house.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abuh Emmanuel said before the security agents could arrive the scene, the suspects had fled into bush.
According to the police boss, the state command is currently investigating the matter to bring the suspects to book.
