Gunmen have attacked a French couple, Mr. Nagnan Denis, 52, and 53-year-old Mrs Nagnan Mee Lavaud Liana on Monday in Ebonyi state.
The attack on the French couple occurred at about 8pm on Monday within Abomege axis of Onisha local government area, leaving the man dead while the woman was sexually abused.
Denis, was said to have been shot on the leg and dealt serious machete wounds on different parts of his body.
While confirming the tragedy, the State Commissioner of Police, Maigari Dikko disclosed that 32 suspects were on Wednesday apprehended in connection with the incident, adding that they have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID of the state Police Command for further interrogation and prosecution.
Dikko also said the hoodlums stole the sum of 1,150 euros and N13, 000 were stolen from the tourists who had travelled through several countries to get to Nigeria.
