Three policemen attached to the Edo Police Command were killed by gunmen Sunday evening in Benin.
The policemen were posted to fun-seekers to provide security at the Ogba Zoo and Nature Park in Oredo Local Government Area of the state.
In the process of the attack, the gunmen abducted the chief executive of the leisure park, Dr Andy Ehanire and took the rifles of the policemen after killing them.
It was learnt that the killing disrupted activities at the leisure park as many fun seekers scampered for safety.
The spokesman of the Edo Police Command, DSP Moses Nkombe, who confirmed the killings and abduction, said the situation had been brought under control.
Nkombe said the killers would soon be apprehended, assuring that security had been beefed up in the area.
He, however, assured members of the public that the park is safe for fun seekers.
The remains of the police officers have since been deposited at the Benin Central Hospital morgue.
