Krinpere Douglas, cousin to Timipre Sylva, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for Bayelsa State, has been kidnapped.
Douglas was kidnapped on Monday afternoon along the Ogbia-Brass waterways when the convoy of boats he was riding in were attacked by the gunmen.
SaharaReporters reported that Douglas was on his way to Okpoma and Brass areas to attend a political rally in support of Sylva.
Nathan Egba, the Director for Media and Publicity of Mr. Sylva’s campaign, confirmed the incident.
He stated that ”the victim was coming for this campaign but, unfortunately, their boat which was in our convoy was attacked by the gunmen who abducted him to an unknown destination.”
“I pray that nothing will happen to him,” Mr. Egba added.
The police is yet to give an update on the abduction.
