Some unknown gunmen have abducted Chairman of the Independent Oil Marketers in Benue State, Matthew Agbason.

It was gathered that Agbason was whisked away on Thursday evening, at the front of his Mkar, Gboko residence while driving in a Highlander SUV.

The kidnappers are reportedly demanding for the sum of N15 million as ransom from the family of their victim.

The development sparked protest in the area as his colleagues resorted to closing down all service stations in Gboko and its environs.

It was gathered that a litre of the product was selling for as high as N300 at the black market where motorists now source the product.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Superintendent, SP, Daniel Ezeala, who confirmed the incident, explained that the police had recovered the Highlander SUV the victim was driving before his kidnap.

Ezeala said his team was working round the clock to ensure his safe release as soon as possible
