Gunmen invade Lagos school, kidnap principal, students

The police in Lagos state on Thursday confirmed that gunmen suspected to be militants kidnapped the vice principal of Model College, Igbonla.

The kidnappers also whisked some students of the college away, but DAILY POST gathered that two of the students have been recovered.

The police image maker in the state, Dolapo Badmos, told our correspondent that: “The vice principal and four students of the college were abducted by gunmen.

“They invaded the school in the Epe area of the state at about 8 am on Thursday.

“We have been able to recover two of the students but the vice principal and two students are still with the kidnappers, who rode away with them in their speed boat.

“We swiftly deployed crack detectives and our men have launched a manhunt for them in creeks and the waters, in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy.”
