At least three Igbo traders, were killed around 11am at Bulabulin ward of Biafara area in Maiduguri, Borno State on Thursday.
DailyPost gathered from an eye witness, that the traders were about opening their shops, when gunmen stormed the market in two tricycles, shooting sporadically into the air to scare people away from the market.
He added that the gunmen started chanting “God is great” after the three traders were killed.
He said: “We were just opening our shops for the day, when we heard gunshots towards Ahmadu Bello Way and people started running in several directions for safety. Some of us ran into our shops and market stalls, while others fled into their houses for safety.
“But I saw three dead bodies lying in front of three different shops. I cannot tell you whether the bodies are of those of the gunmen or some of our colleagues shot this morning (Thursday).”
Just a few hours ago, DailyPost reported that the Director of Design and Construction, in Borno State Ministry of Water Resources, Mallam Ali Mohammed Sheriff was killed on Tuesday by unknown gunmen.
