Seven policemen were on Monday night allegedly killed after suspected gunmen opened fire at a stop-and-search duty post in Galadimawa, Abuja.
DAILY POST gathered that the suspected armed men were stopped for search by the police when they opened fire on them. This resulted in the killing of seven of the officers while one was seriously injured.
According to an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity, the gun battle led traders around the roundabout to run for safety while others sustained varied degrees of injuries.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, told DAILY POST to call back as he was in a conference.
