Residents of Kagurdna, Kakau District of Chikun local government area of Kaduna State are living in fear following the abduction of 60-year old wife of the village head, Chief Amos Yerima by suspected Fulani gunmen.
The incident is said to have taken place Friday morning.
Though details are still sketchy, 35-year old son of the victim, Makama Nathan Yerima explained that a member of the vigilante was also shot dead while attempting to stop the armed men.
“We heard them speaking in Hausa, with Fulani accent. My mother, my younger brother and one of my nephews were taken away by the suspected Fulani gunmen,” he explained.
When asked if any demands had been made, he said they had not been contacted as of the time of writing this report.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Command, ASP Usman Aliyu, said that he was yet to be briefed on the development, but promised to give details later.
