Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, said denied he will be signing Isco from Real Madrid this summer.
The Premier League champions have been linked with an €80million (£70m) bid for the Spain midfielder.
Isco’s future at the Bernabeu is uncertain, as he has been unable to hold down a permanent place in Zinedine Zidane’s squad.
However, Guardiola has been quick to rule out a deal for the 26-year-old, who has a contract until 2022 that includes a release clause of €700m (£611m/$813m).
“City aren’t going to sign Isco,” he said at an event for the Johan Cruyff Foundation on Wednesday.
However, Guardiola is believed to be closing in on a deal for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.
