Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has hailed Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse, as the best corner-kick player in the Premier League.
Guardiola’s men beat the Saints 6-1 on Sunday, to return to the top of the table, but the Spaniard was still not totally happy with his team’s performance.
“We played excellently, without and especially with the ball,” he told BBC Sport.
“We were aggressive in the final third, but we were lucky to score the goal in the last minute of the first half (through Sterling).
“The game was not over, because we conceded. Southampton created more chances than most teams this season.”
When elaborating on the threat the visitors posed despite their heavy loss, Guardiola said that they include the best corner taker in the Premier League in their ranks.
“The team showed me some signals that in some positions we are not stable enough.
“We played with the ball so good but not without the ball. We were not stable behind. We conceded a lot of corner kicks, with the best taker in the league [James Ward-Prowse] like Southampton had,” Guardiola added.
