Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola, has praised his team after they broke their own points record, for the first half of the Bundesliga season.
The Bavarians came from a goal down to beat Mainz 2-1 at the Coface Arena, with Arjen Robben sealing all three points right at the death.
Bayern now have 45 points after 17 games and are 14 points clear of Wolfsburg who are in second place and play Koln on Saturday.
“Compliments to Mainz, as they played well and were good on the break,” the Catalan said. “We had a few problems in the first half but controlled the second. We’re happy with the victory.
“But I’m really happy about how we’ve started the season after a World Cup, and having won a lot in the past few years.
“No matter where we go, we always play with passion. But we now need to stay calm and prepare for the second half of the season.”
