Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has spoken up on the decision by Monaco to appoint Thierry Henry as their new manager.

Henry, who started his football career at the Principality, replaces Leonardo Jardim who was sacked earlier last week.

Guardiola worked with the former Arsenal and France striker while with Barcelona, and has now wished him ‘all the best’ in his managerial career, adding that the 41-year-old deserved it.

“Of course I wish him all the best,’ Metro UK quoted Guardiola as saying at a press conference on Friday.

“He was my old player in Barcelona, with all the players I had, especially the nice guys, they deserve it.

“I want the best for him. It’s a huge experience, he started as a footballer at Monaco, and here he’s going to do well.

“Right now Monaco are not in a good position, but I think he’s going to do it well.

“He’s a young manager and I wish him all the best. Sooner or later we’re going to find each other on the best.”
